On World Literacy Day, Nihar Naturals Shanti Badam Amla has released a new digital film underscoring the transformative power of education. The film depicts a young girl who uses her education to help her mother prepare for a crucial loan interview, highlighting how education can uplift entire families and communities.
Somasree Bose Awasthi, CMO of Marico, emphasized the brand’s commitment to literacy, noting that Nihar Naturals has supported over 1.75 lakh educators and positively impacted more than 15 lakh students in rural India through its English Literacy Program. This initiative, part of the Nihar Shanti Pathshala Funwala program, has been active for five years in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Rajasthan, with 5% of profits dedicated to the cause.
The program, in partnership with LeapForWord, focuses on enhancing English language skills in rural areas by training teachers to use phonetics in their native languages. Pranil Naik, founder of LeapForWord, praised the collaboration, noting its significant expansion from one district to over 140, and expressed optimism for continued growth and impact.
The new film aligns with the International Literacy Day’s theme of promoting quality education, reinforcing Nihar Naturals’ dedication to advancing literacy and creating lasting social change.
