Juwairiya P., a 10-year-old from Mullampara, Manjeri, Kerala, has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the most knee-to-elbow steps in 30 seconds (Under 16). Juwairiya completed 54 steps, surpassing the previous record of 16 steps held by a European. Her accomplishment was officially recognized on March 28, 2024.
In a recent media interaction, Juwairiya credited her father, Salim Padavanna, as her inspiration. Salim, a custodian of heritage objects, holds a Guinness record himself for eating a banana without using his hands in 8.57 seconds. Juwairiya’s sister, Ayesha Sultana, also holds a Guinness record for the fastest time to arrange books in alphabetical order, completing the task in 16.50 seconds.
Juwairiya is a 5th-grade student at Mancheri Blossom Public School. Her achievement reflects the family’s legacy of setting world records and pushing boundaries.
In another record-breaking feat, Josukutty Elbin from Kerala set a Guinness World Record on October 10, 2023, for wearing 10 surgical masks in 11.56 seconds, highlighting the ongoing impact of the pandemic on record-setting challenges.
