Nineteen students from Adarsh Nursing College in Bengaluru were hospitalized following breathing difficulties caused by rat repellent sprayed by the hostel management.
West Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police S. Girish reported that the students, hostel staff, and public members were rushed to nearby hospitals. Among the affected, three students—Jayan Varghese, Dileesh, and Jo Mon—are in critical condition and have been admitted to the ICU.
The DCP confirmed that most students have been treated and are recovering, but a case will be filed against the hostel management under Section 286 of the Indian Penal Code for the use of dangerous substances. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
