Amazon Pay has announced a major milestone for its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) service, reporting that it has now surpassed 100 million users across India. The platform, which was launched in 2019, has seen significant adoption across major states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Karnataka.
In a statement released on Monday, Amazon Pay highlighted that the service has been particularly popular among younger users, with the 18-24 age group leading in adoption rates. This demographic’s preference for Amazon Pay UPI underscores the platform’s growing influence in the digital payments landscape.
