Amazon Pay has announced a major milestone for its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) service, reporting that it has now surpassed 100 million users across India. The platform, which was launched in 2019, has seen significant adoption across major states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Karnataka.

In a statement released on Monday, Amazon Pay highlighted that the service has been particularly popular among younger users, with the 18-24 age group leading in adoption rates. This demographic’s preference for Amazon Pay UPI underscores the platform’s growing influence in the digital payments landscape.

Vikas Bansal, CEO of Amazon Pay India, expressed enthusiasm about the achievement, stating, “We are humbled and proud that 100M customers have chosen Amazon Pay UPI as their preferred choice of online payment experience. We are excited to continue to innovate and expand our offerings to simplify lives and fulfill aspirations for millions across India.”

Amazon Pay UPI users primarily utilize the service for mobile recharges, utility bill payments, and e-commerce transactions, reflecting its broad application in daily financial activities.

As Amazon Pay continues to innovate and expand its digital payment solutions, the company aims to enhance user convenience and accessibility in the evolving payments ecosystem.
