An Indian-born entrepreneur, Rinson Jose, a Norwegian citizen originally from Wayanad, has been linked to pager blasts in Lebanon that resulted in at least 12 deaths and thousands of injuries. Jose reportedly owns Norta Global, a company registered in Bulgaria, believed to have supplied the explosives used in the attacks. The pagers were manufactured by Hungary’s BAC Consulting, under the brand of Taiwan’s Gold Apollo.
Family members defend Jose, stating he had no knowledge of any illegal activities and has been unreachable recently. Authorities in Taiwan and Bulgaria have denied any involvement in the supply chain of the pagers, with Bulgaria’s state security agency confirming that no related devices were imported or exported from the country.
The blasts, which have heightened tensions between Hezbollah and Israel, also involved detonated hand-held radios, killing a total of 37 people and injuring about 3,000. The investigation into the origin and weaponization of the devices spans multiple countries, but Israel has not directly commented on the incidents.
