The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) has introduced a new Certificate Programme focused on Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) Design. This six-month programme targets engineers from mechanical, electrical, automotive, and related disciplines.
Eligibility extends to engineering graduates in mechanical, electrical, automotive, and allied fields, as well as diploma holders (10+2+3) from recognized universities. Scheduled to commence on September 29, the course fee is Rs 1,10,000 plus GST.
Upon completion, participants achieving a minimum 50% grade and attendance will receive a certificate from CEP, IIT Delhi. The programme aims to establish a strong foundation in EV/HEV technology, catering to professionals transitioning from internal combustion engines to EVs/HEVs and those seeking to enhance their sector-specific knowledge.
The curriculum addresses key areas crucial for India’s evolving EV market, encompassing thermodynamics, IC engines, electric machines, power electronics, automotive hybridization, and battery design and modeling. Live sessions by esteemed IIT Delhi faculty, insights aligned with the FAME scheme, a Capstone project, and industry networking opportunities are integral components.
Additionally, participants have the option to attend a one-day campus immersion at IIT Delhi’s Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART), gaining exposure to advanced facilities.
Graduates will acquire expertise in internal combustion engine characteristics, vehicle electrification processes, electric propulsion technologies for HEVs, and principles of energy storage systems. They will also develop skills in testing, modeling methods, and evaluating battery performance, reliability, and safety.
