In a landmark development for sports in Bihar, Hockey India announced on Thursday that Rajgir will host the Hockey Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 from November 11 to 20. The matches will be held at the newly inaugurated Rajgir Hockey Stadium, with India defending their title against teams from China, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, and Korea.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed excitement about the event, promising full support for its success. Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey praised the Bihar government for its backing and highlighted the tournament’s role in promoting sports culture in the state.
Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) President Dato Fumio Ogura also lauded the decision, expressing confidence in the event’s success. The tournament will mark the second consecutive time India has hosted the prestigious competition.
