Renowned choreographer and director Remo D’Souza has shared a harrowing account of the heart attack he suffered in 2020 and the remarkable support he received from actor Salman Khan. In a recent interview on Mashable India’s podcast with Mukesh Chhabra, D’Souza detailed the frightening experience, which occurred while he was at the gym.
Describing the onset of pain and nausea, D’Souza revealed that he was rushed to Kokilaben Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a major heart attack due to 100 percent blockage. Despite his concern, he was relieved to learn that his physical fitness had enabled him to reach the hospital on foot.
The ordeal was compounded by the fact that Salman Khan stayed in constant touch with D’Souza’s wife, Lizelle, providing support from the operating room to the ICU. D’Souza praised Khan’s unwavering presence, stating, “There’s a reason why he is so loved. He has a golden heart.”
D’Souza, who began his career as a background dancer, is now celebrated for his choreography in films such as Kick, Zero, Bajirao Mastani, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. His story highlights both the personal challenges he faced and the remarkable support he received during a critical time.
