Airbnb has announced a partnership with Leverage Edu to promote short-term stay options for international students transitioning to permanent housing in their host countries. With over 1.33 million Indian students currently studying abroad—projected to reach 2 million by 2027—this collaboration targets key destinations including the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, and EU nations.
Amanpreet Bajaj, General Manager of Airbnb India and Southeast Asia, emphasized the goal of this partnership: “We aim to build consideration for Airbnb as a convenient option for students traveling abroad for their education and provide them short-term stays during the transitional period.”
The initiative will feature targeted campaigns across Leverage Edu’s platforms, enabling students to access a range of Airbnb rental options during their university application and preparation phases. Akshay Chaturvedi, Founder & CEO of Leverage Edu, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting, “This initiative represents an opportunity for students to secure their short-term housing in advance, seamlessly through our mobile app.”
This initiative is expected to benefit around 15,000 students over the next year, offering greater flexibility and reducing the stress associated with relocation. As international education continues to grow, this collaboration aims to make the transition smoother for students embarking on their academic journeys abroad.
